Sven A. Bäckström, Senior Biostratigrapher

Sven completed his Cand. Real. degree in Jurassic sedimentology and biostratigraphy (Svalbard) at Oslo University in 1980. He started his career as micropalaeontologist in Statoil in 1981. In 1985 he joined Saga Petroleum where he continued working as miropalaeontologist until end 1999. He established his own consultant company (Applied BioStratigraphy) in 2000, which entered into a cooperation agreement with APT in 2001. From 2005 he has been a permanent employee of the APT biostratigraphic team.
