Ingrid Anne Munz - Senior Research Scientist
Ingrid Anne has a Dr. Scient. degree in geochemistry from the University of Oslo. She started to work at IFE in 1992, and has varied experience within mineralogy, geochemistry and petrology, with emphasis on fluid transport, fluid-rock interaction, diagenetic modelling and modelling of pressure-temperature history in geological processes. Recent work includes PVT modelling of petroleum fluids applied to studies of reservoir filling and compartmentalisation. Visitor at the University of Leeds (England) for six months, winter 1991, working with geochemistry of hydrocarbons and brines. Experienced with analytical methods such as XRD, SEM/microprobe, fluorescence spectroscopy, gas chromatography and fluid inclusion analysis. She has also worked as an adviser at the Research Council of Norway, in the period 1999-2001.

Ingar Johansen

Ingar Johansen - Senior Engineer
Ingar has a background within Analytical Chemistry from the Technical Institute of Oslo (1981). He started his work at IFE in 1983. His main area of expertise is in the field of stable isotope analysis, and he has long experience in the use of stable isotope mass spectrometry (IRMS) and gas chromatography (GC-IRMS), and he  is today  responsible for all the analytical equipment in IFEs stable isotope laboratory. A large part of his work is construction and testing of new preparation lines and methods for improvement of the laboratory work.  He has also worked for several years with different aspects of pyrolysis studies.

Inger Kjersti Iden

Inger Kjersti Iden - Geologist
Kjersti has a Cand. Real. degree in Geology (petrography/mineralogy)  from the University of Bergen. She started her work at IFE in 1985.  She has conducted research in a variety of fields, including clay mineralogy and diagenetic mineral reactions in reservoir sandstones and in mud rocks/source rocks, with emphasis on application of isotopes. She has experience in several petrographical methods, such as optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron microprobe (EMP) and stable isotopic analysis of carbonates with the laser microprobe. She has in addition extensive experience with mineral separations, especially clays.

Jan Kihle

Jan Kihle - Geologist
Jan has a Cand. Scient. degree in Geology from the University of Oslo. In 1991 he joined IFE as a Research Scientist developing instrumentation for trapping of hydrocarbon fluid inclusions. In 1994 Jan invented a fibre optical microscope ‚ Olympus purchased the patent. He developed the Hydrocarbon Core Scannerî (HCSTM) - SND/NFR prizewinner in 1996. In 1997-1998 he was Director of Technology and Development at FiberVision Ltd. He is now responsible for the HCS and the new SEM facilities at IFE.
