As of February 2010 Applied Petroleum Technology (UK) Limited (APT UK) is currently seeking to recruit additional competent geochemist and specialist kerogen microscopists to assist with on-going business growth requirements. The vacancies are to be filled by 2nd quarter 2010.

APT UK, a daughter company of Applied Petroleum Technology AS, is a rapidly growing company based in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, and provides high quality analytical geochemical services (through APT AS, Norway) and specialist bespoke interpretation services to a wide range of international and national oil companies worldwide.

APT is pleased to announce that the company has entered into an exclusive contractual relationship with Wellstrat Services Ltd. regarding provision of biostratigraphical services covering the Norwegian Continental Shelf. This agreement will strengthen APT capacity with regard to the increasing demand for biostratigraphical services both offshore and onshore.

March 2007 APT is pleased to announce that Mark Bastow, formerly of Fugro Robertson Limited, has joined APT. Mark has many years experience working on a wide range of geochemistry projects including single well studies, regional syntheses, reservoir geochemistry and modelling. Mark has experience in Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas and the Far East and will provide a valuable boost to APTs capacity and competence within Petroleum Geochemistry.

September 2006

APT is pleased to announce the formation of APT (UK) Ltd, a company registered in the UK and based in North Wales. This subsidiary will be carrying out consultancy services in the same areas of activity as the parent company (biostratigraphy and geochemistry). The company will utilise the extensive and high quality analytical services of the parent company in Oslo and will concentrate on providing high quality consultancy services. The principals of the new subsidiary are Patrick Barnard and Steve Thompson, both highly experienced geochemists with between them over 60 years professional experience in the petroleum exploration and production business.

APT (UK) is already providing services to UK based companies with operations both in the UK / North West Europe as well as further afield in Africa and the Middle East. Niche operations will aim at servicing operators and exploration companies’ requirements in reservoir fluid studies, acreage assessment, and license round reviews and in the broader market assist companies to better evaluate petroleum potential using their huge knowledge and experience of petroleum systems around the world.

 

May 2006

ResLab, Reservoir Laboratories AS and Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) have signed an agreement 22nd of May where ResLab buys 50% of the shares in APT. For further growth the company needs strong industrial partners. APT's service in geochemistry and biostratigraphy will be an important supplement for ResLab, which will use its international market penetration to offer the new services.

 

April 2005

Dr. Stephen Killops (geochemistry) and Camilla K. M. Winterstad (geochemistry) joins APT.

 

September 2004

Due to increased activity in Organic Geochemistry, Geir Hansen was engaged from September 1st 2004.

 

May 2003

APT will sell and support the EasyQuan and SI-PIONA software developed at SINTEF Applied Chemistry.
